PHIL GOODMAN
BIOGRAPHY

Phil Goodman serves as a director of American Fund Advisors Private Equity Fund I.  He is also a cofounder, and until recently, a director of Ardent Acquisition Corporation which was merged into AVANTAIR (AAIR).  He served as a board observer and long term advisor to InClinix, Inc. (Formerly PharmaTech Solutions).

In addition to his broad experience in private equity, Phil is a successful serial entrepreneur.  He also has done numerous turnarounds and restructurings on behalf of investors such as Warren Avis, Principal Financial, and Bulldog Capital Management.

 

Phil cofounded, and was Chairman of the Board of FastComm Communications Corporation. This company was a major win for investors in the early 1990’s achieving a market capitalization of $160,000,000.00.

 

He was the Fund Consultant for Greyhound Fund LP.  He advised this fund on all new private technology investments, early stage and mezzanine, as well as turnarounds and restructurings of the fund’s portfolio companies.  He continues to advise Greyhound regarding reinvestments in portfolio companies.

 

He was a founder of Control Transaction Corporation via a leveraged buyout.  He served as an officer and director.  The company was successfully merged with GEAC, at that time an $800,000,000 conglomerate.

 

He also served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Digital Computer during its years of maximum growth.

 

Phil assisted Central Florida Innovation Corporation (CFIC) as Entrepreneur in Residence, on a consulting basis, helping to set the strategy for two new technology companies in the Orlando area, Theseus Logic and TeraNex.  These companies were created by mining the IP of Lockheed-Martin.

 

He has served as a director of both public and private corporations.

 

Phil’s pro bono contributions include serving as a director of the Angel Investment Forum of Florida, as well as previously serving as a member of the Client Advisory Panel of Enterprise Development Corporation.  He was a Trustee of the Brunswick Symphony Orchestra.

 

Phil has been quoted in Business Week, Electronic News, and Digital Design.

 

He holds degrees from the University of Chicago and Miami University. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
